Incident at ABBOTSFORD BC (CYXX)

Summary

2019-06-11: A Montair Aviation Piper PA-34-200T (C-GTAB) from Pitt Meadows, BC (CYPK) to Pitt Meadows, BC (CYPK), on the planned missed approach at Abbotsford, BC (CYXX), informed the controller that their engine was running rough. The pilot cancelled their IFR and requested to return to CYPK. The controller offered a return to CYXX but the pilot chose to continue to CYPK. No operational impact and aircraft arrived safely.
2019-08-29: UPDATE from Airworthiness: A Civil Aviation Safety Inspector (CASI) looked into this occurrence. The company reported that the aircraft was removed from service. Maintenance found a faulty intake valve. Engine to be removed and sent for overhaul.
