Incident at EDMONTON INTL AB (CYEG)
2016-07-05: A Skyservice Business Aviation Inc. Beech B200 (C-GPNE) from Calgary, AB (CYYC) to Bonnyville, AB (CYBF) was northbound at FL330, and a Federal Express Corporation Boeing 757-200 (FDX121) from Edmonton, AB (CYEG) to Memphis, TN (KMEM) was climbing off CYEG and cleared to FL320 for C-GPNE. FDX121 requested and was approved for deviation left of course for weather and to advise when clear. FDX121 was then cleared to FL350, then subsequently turned right back on course, then was instructed to turn 30 degrees left but aircraft did not appear to turn. C-GPNE passed 4 NM behind FDX121.
2016-07-11: UPDATE TSB #A16W0076: N785FD, a Boeing 757-200 operated by Federal Express, was operating as flight FX121 from Edmonton Intl, AB (CYEG) to Memphis Intl, TN (KMEM). During the ascent to its cruise altitude, FX121 was cleared to maintain FL320 due to intersecting traffic, C-GPNE, a Beech B200 operated by Sky Service en route to Bonnyville, AB (CYBF) from Calgary Intl, AB (CYYC) at FL330. The flight crew of FX121 requested deviations left of track due to weather and was approved for the maneuver. Shortly thereafter, FX121 was cleared to FL350 with no heading restrictions. A loss of separation occurred when FX121 turned right to return to its original course. The separation between C-GPNE and FX121 was reduced to 4.0 nautical miles where 5.0 nautical miles was required.
