Incident at GRAYY INTERSECTION (Communication navigation surveillance/air traffic system)

2015-09-02: A PAL Aerospace Beech 200 (C-GPGR/ SPR06) from St John's, NL (CYYT) to Halifax, NS (CYHZ) flight plan was received as proceeding to 4230/6245 to conduct fisheries patrol. The controller noticed that the aircraft was tracking south of filed route and contacted SPR dispatch to confirm route. Dispatch informed that the filed coordinate was in fact 4230/6145. This corresponded to the track the aircraft was following and the Canadian Automated Air Traffic System (CAATS) profile was updated. Further checking found the correct route was filed with the Flight Information Centre (FIC) but was somehow changed within the FIC before forwarding to Gander Area Control Centre (ACC). No impact to operations.
