2015-09-01: UPDATE: TSB REPORT#A15A0053:The Provincial Airlines Ltd. de Havilland DHC-8-102 aircraft, registration C-FDND, was operating as PVL1926 on a flight from Deer Lake, NL to St. John's, NL. While en route, the flight crew heard a small bang and immediately noticed the #2 engine (Pratt & Whitney Canada PW120A) torque and interstage turbine temperature indications dropping. The crew completed the #2 engine shutdown, actioned the QRH, and declared an emergency. After briefing the passengers, a diversion to Gander, NL was performed where the flight landed without further incident while ARFF stood by.
2015-08-24: Pilot of a PAL Airlines de Havilland DHC-8-102 (C-FDND/ PVL1926) from Deer Lake, NL (CYDF) to Gander, NL (CYQX) reported an emergency with Number 2 engine shutdown. The pilot requested emergency services on standby at Gander, NL. At 1610Z, the aircraft landed Runway 21 without further issues.
