Incident at SAINT JOHN NB (CYSJ)


2015-08-11: A Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-102 (JZA8786) from Montreal, QC (CYUL) to Saint John, NB (CYSJ) was issued descent to 3500 feet while being vectored to Runway 23. The pilot read back 2000 feet and was corrected. On the second read back, the pilot read back 2500 feet which was not corrected by the controller. The flight descended below the cleared altitude of 3500 feet in an area where the minimum vectoring altitude (MVA) is 3500 feet.
