Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

Summary

2015-08-11: A Jazz Bombardier CL-600-2B19 (JZA8886) from Halifax, NS (CYHZ) to Deer Lake, NL (CYDF) reported the aircraft had rudder issues while climbing out from Halifax, NS. The pilot did not declare an emergency and returned to Halifax landing Runway 23 without any incident. JZA8886 landed at 0407Z. No impact on operations.
2015-08-24: Update: TSB report #A15A0047:The Jazz CRJ-200, registration C-GKER, was operating as JZA886 from Halifax to Deer Lake, NL. During departure, the crew reported that they required full left rudder deflection to maintain straight flight. The flight returned to Halifax without further incident. No emergency was declared. Maintenance found nose wheel steering rotary variable differential transformer (RVDT) out of tolerance. The RVDT was adjusted and the aircraft returned to service.
