Incident at GANDER INTL NL (CYQX) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)


2015-07-20: A Canso aircraft (TKR714) on a local flight from Gander, NL (CYQX) landed Runway 31 and was observed to have fire coming out of the aircraft's starboard engine. Crash alarm was pressed and the firehall responded. The aircraft exited the runway with no incident and was escorted back to the company's ramp at Gander Flight Training by a Fire Rescue vehicle (Red 2). Four aircraft were affected : 3 departures: Exploits Valley (EV7647), Exploits Valley (C-FBNY), an American corporately registered aircraft (N604BC). 1 Arrival, Exploits Valley (C-GZSV) was required to orbit in the right down wind Runway 31 until it was confirmed that there was no debris on the runway.
