Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)

Summary

2015-08-13: Update: Follow-up information received from National Maintenance Operations [2015-06-29]: A Civil Aviation Safety Inspector (CASI) contacted the operator for more information about this incident. The operator confirmed that no mechanical/technical malfunction with the aircraft or its systems contributed to this occurrence. The operator provided the CASI with additional information about this occurrence. The CASI was satisfied with the information the operator provided and advised that no further Transport Canada follow-up action was required at this time.
2015-07-09: A Sunwing Airlines Boeing 737-8Q8 (C-FYJD/SWG836), from Gander, NL (CYQX) to St. John's, NL (CYYT), conducted a missed approach at 1450Z. Pilot advised approach was unstable due to cockpit issue. No problems with Instrument Landing System (ILS) Runway 16. Landed without issue at 1508Z.
