Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT)
2015-08-24: Update from Maintenance & Manufacturing: After trouble shooting was carried out by maintenance is was determined that the elevator trim cable protective tubing was found to be unsecured from bracket, causing the elevator trim to become jammed. The tubing was re-secured and the trim system was function tested serviceable. The remainder of the system was inspected with no additional defects noted. The aircraft was returned to service. A fleet wide inspection has been initiated to inspect this subject area.
2015-07-06: TSB Report#A15A0036: The Exploits Valley Air Services Beechcraft 1900 (registration C-GERI) aircraft was enroute from St John's to Gander on a freight run and had just leveled off. The electric elevator trim was found to be stuck and the manual trim wheel would not move. The trim was near neutral position so the crew continued to Gander and landed without incident. The aircraft was parked by the crew and the trim issue snagged in the logbook. Maintenance found the elevator trim cable protective tubing to be unsecured and causing the elevator trim to stick. The protective tubing was re-secured and the trim system operated with no faults. A Service Difficulty Report (SDR) is being completed.
