2015-05-10: A Sunwing Airlines Boeing 737-8BK (C-FTJH / SWG456) from St. John's, NL (CYYT) to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (MDPC) reported a fuel spill after pushing back from the gate. Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) was advised. As a result, the aircraft was delayed until 1337Z.
2015-05-19: UPDATE: Follow-up information received from National Maintenance Operations ? Airworthiness [2015-05-08]:A Civil Aviation Safety Inspector (CASI) looked into this occurrence. The CASI contacted the operator for more information and was advised that on push back, the No. Engine 2 developed a fuel leak at start up. The High Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control Valve (HPTACC) drain was the source of the fuel. Maintenance performed the required testing and returned the aircraft to service (after performing an engine idle run with no faults found). Subsequently, a similar leak required the replacement of the HPTACC May 4, 2015. There has been no recurrence. The CASI was satisfied with the information provided by the operator and advised that no further Transport Canada follow-up action was required at this time.
