Incident at 80 NM NE HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)
2015-03-18: UPDATE: TSB Report#A15A0013: The Jazz de Havilland DHC 8-102, registration C-GONX, was operating as JZA7090 on a flight from Halifax, NS (CYHZ) to Îles-de-la-Madeleine, QC. Approximately 80 nm northeast of CYHZ the crew received a #1 engine low oil pressure indication and engine oil was observed on the #1 engine cowl. The flight crew conducted a precautionary shutdown of the #1 engine (Pratt & Whitney Canada PW120A), declared an emergency and requested a return to CYHZ with ARFF standing by. JZA7090 landed in CYHZ uneventfully. Company maintenance replaced a leaking #1 hydraulic pump accessory drive pad seal at reduction gearbox of the #1 engine. The engine was leaked checked and the aircraft returned to service.
2015-03-05: A Jazz de Havilland DHC-8-102 (JZA7090) from Halifax, NS (CYHZ) to Îles-de-la-Madeleine, QC (CYGR) was approximately 80 miles northeast of CYHZ when the pilot advised of declaring an emergency and requested to return to CYHZ due to an oil pressure problem and number 1 engine shut down. Emergency vehicles were requested. 2200 lbs of fuel and 4 souls on board (SOB). Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Halifax advised. Aircraft landed safety at 1417Z.
