Incident at 10 NM S MONCTON / GREATER MONCTON INTL NB (CYQM)

Summary

2015-03-05: A CANLink Aviation Diamond DA 20-C1 (C-FNTK) on a local flight from Moncton, NB (CYQM) was seen on radar orbiting 10 miles south for about 10 minutes before indicating a radio failure by squawking 7600 on the transponder. The aircraft was asked by tower to switch back to original code if it was receiving. Pilot switched back indicating the flight was receiver only (RONLY). Pilot was given instructions to return for landing without incident. No other aircraft affected.
