Incident at CHARLOTTETOWN AIRPORT
2015-02-24: Update from Maintenance & Manufacturing: Aircraft was removed from service until maintenance could assess the issue. Upon inspection, maintenance noticed the emergency locator transmitter (ELT) to be covered with de-icing fluid. Maintenance personnel turned off the ELT at 0015Z. Halifax Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) advised. The ELT was unserviceable in accordance with the Minimum Equipment List as per company protocol and the aircraft was returned to service.
2015-02-05: An Exploits Valley Beech 1900D (C-GORZ / EV7584) from Halifax, NS (CYHZ) to Charlottetown, PE (CYYG) emergency locator transmitter (ELT) activated at 2044Z in CYYG. Determined by ramp search with ELT locator. Maintenance personnel turned off ELT at January 30, 2015, 0015Z. Halifax Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) advised.
