Incident at DEER LAKE NL (CYDF) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown, Aerodrome - runway or taxiway surface condition)


2015-02-03: A Canadian North Boeing 737-36Q (C-GCNZ/MPE1544), from Deer Lake, NL (CYDF) to St. John's, NL (CYYT), became stuck on edge of threshold Runway 25 due to a combination of wind and icy runway conditions when aircraft was turning around to line up for departure at 1325Z. Passengers where unloaded and ferried back to the Terminal at which time the pilot powered up and got aircraft unstuck. Aircraft taxied back to apron and runway completely reopened at 1506Z. Runway was NOTAM closed from 1325Z until 1420Z. Departures on Runway 25 with a displaced threshold were allowed from 1420Z until 1506Z.
