Incident at STONY RAPIDS SK (CYSF) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)
2015-10-21: Update Maintenance & Manufacturing: A R/H Main Landing Gear Indication fault in flight. Maintenance isolated the defect to a broken gear indication wire for the R/H Main Landing gear position indication system. The entire wiring harness was replaced with new. Gear swings carried out and tested serviceable.
2013-01-17: Pilot on a West Wind Aviation Beech 200 (C-FWWQ/ operating as WEW230) on a VFR flight advised the FSS inbound at 2054Z that due to a gear indication inbound to CJW7, the flight was now inbound to CYSF as a precaution. They were in contact with local maintenance to coordinate a low and over for a visual inspection of gear. ARFF was offered by declined. At 2059Z pilot requested that ARFF be put on Standby. After circling for about 50 minutes, pilot landed safely at 2204Z with an unsafe gear indication. Engines were shutdown on runway and passengers disembarked. Runway was closed 2204Z - 2224Z. A DHC6 and a PA31 were delayed in the air until the disabled aircraft was towed off runway.
