Bell 206B, registration C-GGZS, was tasked by RCC Trenton to pick up two hunters stranded on sea ice roughly 8 nm NE of CYEK Arviat, Nunavut, and transport them to Arviat. The helicopter landed approximately 200 feet away from the hunters. The pilot maintained approximately 60% torque to keep the helicopter light on the skids. Two Canadian Forces SAR Technicians parachuted to the site. All personnel were evacuated to Arviat by a Canadian Forces Griffon approximately 2.5 hours later and treated for hypothermia.
