Incident at 60 NM West of Moncton

Summary

2015-10-22: TSB Report#A13A0131: The Jazz Dash 8-400, registration C-GGDU, was operating as JZA 8936 on a flight from Toronto to Moncton. On the descent into Moncton, the crew received a pirep for turbulence, and prepared by advising the passengers and flight attendants as well as slowing the aircraft. Within 5 minutes, the captain reported severe turbulence starting around FL185 and lasting about 2 minutes. The flight attendants were in the process of securing the galley, one attendant was able to get seated quickly while the other attendant held on in the galley. The captain stated that there was no large abrupt changes in altitude and/or attitude, nor did he lose control of the aircraft. The aircraft was grounded until maintenance could perform an inspection.
