Incident at ST. JOHN'S INTL NL (CYYT) (ATM - ILS irregularity)


2015-10-22: There were three missed approaches by two aircraft, a PAL Airlines de Havilland DHC 8 102 (C-FHRC/ PVL908) from St. Anthony, NL (CYAY) to St. John's, NL (CYYT) and an Air Canada Airbus A320-211 (C-FPWD/ ACA114) from Toronto, ON (CYYZ) to St. John's, NL (CYYT) at CYYT due to the glide path for runway 16 being released to maintenance due ongoing runway construction for runway 11/29. The first missed approach was at 2018Z. Weather deteriorated and the Airport Authority returned the Glide Path to service after the missed approaches. The two aircraft subsequently landed without further incident.
