Incident at SAINT JOHN NB (CYSJ)

Summary

2015-10-22: The pilot weather report (PIREP) filed at 1830Z for moderate to severe turbulence at Saint John, NB (CYSJ) below 3000 and wind shear +/- 15 knots. A Irving Air Service Bombardier BD-100 Challenger 300 (KCE2) from Halifax, NS (CYHZ) to Saint John, NB (CYSJ) reported 'very severe' turbulence below 2000 on approach to runway 23 and aborted his approach (1930Z). Jazz Aviation following stopped descent and did not continue his approach. KCE2 diverted to Moncton, NB (CYQM). As of 2027Z, no other aircraft have attempted an approach at CYSJ and all have diverted to various airports based on these report.
