Incident at 6216N5732W (ATM - NAVAIDS/radar)

Summary

2014-12-16: A westbound Military Airlift Command, United States Armed Forces Lockheed C-5 (Galaxy) (RCH152) from Ramstein Airbase, Germany (ETAR) to San Antonio, TX (KSKF) routing 63N050W 1724 estimating 62N060@ 1805 at FL330 declared an emergency due to a pressurization problem and requested descent. Gander High Level Domestic was applying non-radar separation due to a radar outage and was unable to grant requested descent due crossing traffic, a United Airlines Inc. Boeing 777 200 series from Newark, NJ (KEWR) to Tokyo, Japan (RJAA). The aircraft descended on own to FL290 before the problem was corrected.
