Accident at Just off Barss Corner Road in Lunenburg County, NS
2014-12-15: UPDATE: TSB Report#A13A0097: The privately operated Kitfox V homebuilt aircraft was carrying out low and over flights on the pilot's newly constructed airstrip near Barss Corner NS. During the third flight, the aircraft was on a left base to final turn when it pitched over and entered a right-hand spin. The aircraft impacted the ground in a near vertical condition. A post-crash fire ensued which destroyed the aircraft. The pilot, who was the sole occupant, was fatally injured.

2014-12-15: UPDATE JRCC HALIFAX SARSUM REPORT [S2013-00807] - F.A1 - 181325Z. Plane Crash Barss Corner (443323N 0644217W - Barss Corner, NS). Royal Canadian Mounted Police Dispatch called with a concerned citizen reporting a small ultra-light aircraft crash near Barrs Corner, NS. EHS, Police and the Fire Department were dispatched. EHS arrived on scene and recovered the sole person on board, deceased, no assistance required. Cormorant stood down before airborne. Corm 913 413 - 0.0 [S2013-00807]
2014-12-15: UPDATE: Please note that this aircraft (Kitfox 5) was exported from the USA on July 15, 2013 as stated in a Notice of De-registration from the FAA which confirms that this aircraft had been sold to a Canadian. As of November 14, 2013 there is no record with Transport Canada of a Canadian Certificate of Registration being filed.
