Incident at 30NM S/W of YSJ, SAINT JOHN NB VOR/DME
2014-12-15: A Jazz Bombardier CL-600-2D15 (C-GOJZ / JZA8994) from Montreal, QC (CYUL) to Halifax, NS (CYHZ) experiencd a cracked Windshield descending through FL300 and diverted to Saint John, NB (CYSJ). Arrived at 1537Z. An emergency was declared. 65 souls on board. 4600 lbs fuel.
2014-12-15: TSB A13A0093: The Jazz CRJ-705 aircraft (C-GOJZ), operating as flight JZA8994, departed Montreal-Trudeau (CYUL) airport and was descending through FL300 into Halifax International airport (CYHZ) when the crew declared an emergency due to a cracked windshield. They diverted to Saint John, New Brunswick (CYSJ) and landed safely at 12:35 local time with ARFF meeting the aircraft when they landed. No injuries were reported. Maintenance replaced the windshield and the aircraft was returned to service.
2014-12-15: UPDATE - Aviation Incident Report 13216 (St. John Airport): ERS Response runway 23 2013/8/11 12:25. Flight Jazz 8994 Regional Jet C-GOJZ. Montreal to Halifax. 4 crew, 61 passengers. Saint John emergency services were advised by FSS of the emergency diversion of a Regional Jet bound for Halifax, (CYHZ) with cracked windshield. Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) were requested to standby. Red 3 maintained stand-by position and the aircraft landed without incident. The Captain requested ARFF to meet the aircraft at the stopping point on runway 23. ARFF then proceeded behind the aircraft to the apron.
