Incident at In the vicinity of: Oyster Pond


2014-12-12: A Canadian Helicopters LTD Sikorsky S-76A (C-GIMN) was enroute to a scene call in Oyster Pond, on Nova Scotia's eastern shore, and cruising at 1300 feet MSL (1000 AGL), when the non-flying pilot (NFP) observed a helicopter fly below them in an opposite direction at very close range (100 - 150'). The helicopter was an R44, with which Halifax Tower was in contact with. The R44 was advised by Tower of the Sikorsky's position (5 miles N) and altitude. The Sikorsky pilots were then advised by the Tower that there was no conflict with traffic. Next the R44 pilot was heard saying that he was descending below the Sikorsky helicopter. That is when the R44 was spotted passing below.
