Incident at 43N6450W (ELT)

Summary

2014-12-12: Numerous reports of ELT signal. Strength 4 to 5 in the vicinity of 4300N 06450W. All reports were passed on to the Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC). The signal was located at 0950Z at Liverpool aerodrome (CYAU), NS.
2014-12-12: UPDATE: JRCC Halifax SAR Report (S2013-00422): ELT Reports - Liverpool (440224N 0644304W - Liverpool NS). Moncton ACC reported many high flyers hearing a 121.5 ELT signal when flying over the south shore of Nova Scotia, between Shelburne and Halifax. Herc 333 was tasked to investigate and further pinpointed the signal to the Liverpool area. CASARA members from Yarmouth were then tasked to drive to Liverpool in order to locate and turn the ELT off. Source located in recycling dumpster in Liverpool NS. Case Closed.
