Accident at GANDER INTL NL (CYQX)

Summary

2014-12-12: UPDATE: TSB REPORT#A13A0081: The privately owned Piper PA 12 float equipped aeroplane was departing a lake after a morning of fishing. The aircraft reached approximately 300 feet when the pilot started a left turn. Due to gusty winds the aircraft stalled and settled into the trees below before corrective action could be applied. The aircraft was substantially damaged, the pilot and passenger were not injured.
2014-12-12: A privately registered Piper PA-12 called to notify Tower that the aircraft was in the trees approximately 15 miles southwest of Deadman's Bay area. The accident happened between 730Z and 830Z. No injuries.
