2014-11-05: UPDATE: TSB Report#A13A0046: The Delta Airlines Airbus 330-300(registration N811NW) aeroplane was enroute from Amsterdam (EHAM) to Detroit (KDTW). The crew noted a high Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) oil temperature. The crew declared an emergency and requested to divert to St John's. The aircraft landed safely at 1200 NDT. Maintenance replaced number 1 IDG and IDG inlet line, all checks normal and the aircraft was released for service.
2014-11-05: Just west of 40w at 1315Z, the crew of a Delta Air Lines Airbus A330-300 (N811NW/ DAL620) from Amsterdam (EHAM) to Detroit, MI (KDTW) reported a technical malfunction and diverted to St. John's, NL (CYYT), not serious in nature. The aircraft was cleared as requested. At 1415Z, the crew declared an emergency (mechanical) and landed at 1430Z, however requested the CFR to do a visual external examination of the aircraft prior to taxiing to the gate. Nothing was discovered and the emergency was ended at time 1436Z.
