Accident at DIGBY / ANNAPOLIS REGIONAL NS (CYID)

Summary

2017-03-06: UPDATE TSB: A13A0024: The privately owned Cessna 180K departed Digby (CYID) on a VFR round robin flight to Saint John (CYSJ) and Charlottetown (CYYG). On return to Digby the winds were 310 degrees at 27 knots. On the third attempt the aircraft landed on Runway 26 and ground looped. The nose of the aircraft impacted the runway causing damage to the propeller, engine and left wingtip. The pilot was the sole occupant and was uninjured.
2017-03-06: UPDATE TSB: The C180 landed in a crosswind, ground looped and struck the nose on the runway damaging the propeller, engine, and one wingtip. TSB Case Closed.
2017-03-06: The Digby Airport (CYID) reported to the Halifax Flight Information Centre (FIC) an incident involving a Canadian registered Cessna 180K. The aircraft flipped over during landing and damaged the propeller. There were no injuries.
