Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Summary

2017-03-06: UPDATE TSB: A13A0017: The Moncton Flight College Diamond DV 20 (registration C-FUZG) aeroplane was conducting a stop and go on Runway 27 in Fredericton. When the pilot applied the brakes the left brake became stuck and would not release. The aeroplane departed the left side of the runway, coming to a stop about 50 feet off the hard surface. The lone student pilot was not injured and the aircraft was not damaged. Maintenance could not find fault with the brake system and released the aircraft to service.
2017-03-06: At 16:03Z, C-FUZG, Diamond DA-20-C1, slid off of Runway 27 (500 feet west of intersection) at Fredericton (CYFC) while the pilot was conducting stop and go circuits. The one occupant of the aircraft was uninjured and the TSB has been advised. Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) responded and checked for fuel leaks and major damage. None was found. The last weather was reported at 16:00Z was as follows: METAR CYFC 231600Z AUTO 15003KT 100V170 9SM CLR M03/M10 A3032. Runway conditions were reported as bare and dry.
