2013-01-29: UPDATE TSB: A13A0007: The Pascan Aviation British Aerospace JS32 (C-FIBA) was on approach for landing at Wabush airport. When the pilot selected the landing gear down, the nose landing gear did not indicate down and locked. The landing gear was cycled a few times with the same results. Different light bulbs were tried in the nose gear indicator however, the light still did not illuminate. The aircraft was flown over the runway to visually confirm the nose landing gear was down. An airport staff member confirmed it was down but could not verify if it was locked. The crew declared an emergency. With the landing gear selected down and the flaps set for landing the crew did not receive an audible indication that the aircraft was not configured properly for landing, indicating that all three gear were down and locked. The aircraft landed without further incident with emergency vehicle on standby. Jazz flight 731 was delayed on the ground in Wabush for about 25 minutes. Maintenance found corrosion on the electrical connector in the nose landing gear bay.
