2011-02-10: UPDATE Maintenance & Manufacturing: Aircraft C-GBSW, Gulfstream Astra-SPX was enroute CYYC-CYTN using CYHZ as an alternate airport of landing. Upon configuring the aircraft for approach into CYTN the flaps failed to extend from the stowed position. Due to the 5400 foot runway length in CYTN the crew elected to divert to CYHZ and an requested Runway 23 which is sufficient in length to safely land with a 0 flap configuration. The leading edge slats worked normally throughout this flight. The flight crew conducted all pilot procedures normally and in compliance with the abnormal checklist procedures and landing uneventfully. Maintenance subsequently inspected the aircraft and found the #2 flap actuator to be faulty which was replaced with a serviceable unit and the aircraft returned to service.
