Incident at Gander Oceanic/Domestic interface

Summary

2010-12-08: AT 17:48Z, Gander High Level radar advised that they had a radar target at 33,000 ft. approaching 4830/50 that coincided with the CNV9774 49/50 position information. VHF contact was initiated through the Gander International Flight Service Station (IFSS) and the flight was radar identified south of course. The flight was questioned and confirmed that the avionics indicated that the aircraft was on course. The cleared route was confirmed with the flight again and the flight crew confirmed that the cleared route was correct in the navigation system. There was no traffic.
