Incident at 4429N06239W
Summary
2010-11-22: TALON30, Sikorsky S61, was on VFR flight from Shearwater (CYAW) to the HMCS Toronto via Port Hawksbury (CYPD) and Sable Island (CST5). Aircraft went overdue. The pilot did not update the ETA during a fuel stop. The Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) contacted the Halifax Flight Information Centre to advise that RJOC Atlantic had informed them of the situation. AT 22:20Z, the Shearwater (CYAW) Base operations called to advise that TALN30 was 20 miles from HMCS Toronto and they requested that the flight plan be closed as TALN30 was in radio contact with ship. The RCC was advised and the flight plan was closed.
