Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
2010-11-19: C-FRKG, Piper PA31, enroute from Yarmouth (CYQI) to Fredericton (CYFC), on downwind for Runway 27, advised that it was experiencing a landing gear problem. No emergency was declared and no assistance was required. The problem was resolved two minutes later and the aircraft landed safely at 21:38Z.
2010-11-25: UPDATE Maintenance & Manufacturing: When the flight was on approach to Fredericton, the pilot selected gear-down and nothing happened. The pilot then used the emergency hand pump to extend the gear to achieve the 3-green indication. The aircraft landed without incident. Upon inspection, it was determined that the left hand engine hydraulic pump pressure line had been rubbing on the air intake scat hose which caused it to fail. The line will be replaced and the required landing gear tests will be carried out.
