Incident at South southeast of Wabush (CYWK) (Conflict - potential, Conflict - loss of separation)


2010-11-18: An operating irregularity occurred when the separation between JZA719, DHC 8 102, enroute from Wabush (CYWK) to Sept-Îles (CYZV), and SPR917, DHC 8 102, enroute from Goose Bay (CYYR) to Wabush, was reduced to 12.5 nautical miles when the required separation is 20 natuical miles.
2010-11-23: UPDATE TSB: SPR917, DHC-8 (Dash 8) operated by Provincial Airways took off from Goose Bay to Wabush. At 28 DME on radial 146 of YWZ, the controller cleared the aircraft to leave 11,000 feet for 6000 feet. At the same time JZA719, DHC-8 (Dash 8) operated by Air Canada Jazz, which took off from Wabush to Sept-Iles was 7 nm east of Wabush to 10000 feet. The spacing between the two aircraft was reduced to 12.5 nm. As both aircraft were in a non-radar environment, the required separation was 20 nm.
