Incident at J.A. DOUGLAS MCCURDY SYDNEY AIRPORT

Summary

2010-10-20: C-FYKY, Cessna 172K experienced a radio failure while inbound to Sydney (CYQY) from Port Hawkesbury (CYPD). C-FYKY was shown as a VFR target on NARDS and was passed as traffic to a departing Jazz flight. C-FYKY crossed midfield joined left downwind and landed on Runway 25. C-FYKY subsequently departed after solving the radio issue and monitored FISE frequency rather than Mandatory Frequency (MF) while in and out of the Sydney MF area. C-FYKY was passed as traffic to two Jazz flights arriving and departing Sydney.
