Incident at 60 Miles West of Halifax (CYHZ)


2010-10-12: COA1591, Boeing 737-700 at 37,000 ft., enroute from Newark (KEWR) to St. John?s (CYYT), advised that the aircraft lost 1,000 ft. of altitude. The target was observed on radar descending from 37,000 ft. without clearance. The pilot requested clearance to 35,000 ft. in an effort to determine what had happened. The aircraft was given clearance to 35,000 ft. and leveled at that altitude. No traffic was involved.
