Accident at Bridgetown

Summary

2010-10-08: The Halifax Flight Information Centre (FIC) received a telephone call from the pilot of C-GLQW, Maule M 5 210C, reporting an accident at Debert (CCQ3). The aircraft experienced a hard landing and the aircraft stalled before touchdown. The fuselage structure inboard of the right and left wing strut attach points were damaged.
2010-11-16: UPDATE TSB: A10A0109: The pilot who was the sole occupant of C-GLQW, a privately-owned Maule M5-210C, was en route from Debert to Bridgetown. On landing at Bridgetown, the pilot flared after which the aircraft stalled aerodynamically. The aircraft landed hard and came to rest on the runway. After exiting the aircraft uninjured, the pilot noted that the fuselage was damaged between the wing strut attachment points. The aircraft has been transported to the home base of Debert via ground transportation. The pilot is undecided as to whether the aircraft will be repaired.
