Incident at Vicinity of OYSTR Intersection


2010-09-30: FDX2, MD11, enroute from Memphis (KMEM) to London (EGSS), experienced an oil leak and engine number-2 was shut down. The pilot declared an emergency and requested clearance to Bangor (KBGR). The aircraft exited Moncton airspace at 14:57Z. The Boston Area Control Centre (ACC) was advised. TSB Case Closed.
2010-10-12: UPDATE TSB: A10A0104: FDX2, a Federal Express Boeing MD-11, was en route from Memphis to London when the flight crew advised that they had received an indication of an oil leak on the number two engine (General Electric CF6-80) and had subsequently shut down the engine. The crew later declared an emergency and exited Canadian airspace without further incident.
