Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

2010-08-16: JZA890, CL600, enroute from Ottawa (CYOW) to Halifax (CYHZ), experienced a pressurization problem. The flight declared an emergency 10 miles north of the airport with two ill passengers. Emergency Response Services (ERS) were at the gate. The aircraft landed safely 20:19Z.

2010-09-02: TSB UPDATE: A10A0088: JZA890, an Air Canada Jazz Bombardier RJ705, registration C-GLJZ, was en route from Ottawa to Halifax when the flight crew received a left-hand bleed air warning message. The cabin altitude then began to climb at which time the crew requested and received a descent clearance from Boston center, carried out an emergency descent, and leveled the aircraft at 10 000 feet. After leveling off, two passengers advised that they were feeling ill and were administered medical oxygen. The flight continued to CYHZ at 10 000 feet after which two additional passengers reported feeling ill. Approaching Halifax, the crew declared an emergency. The aircraft landed safely without further incident after which the aircraft was met by ERS at the gate. Maintenance inspection revealed that a loop sensor connector was loose which was subsequently repaired. The AILC computer was replaced and the system was checked serviceable. The aircraft has since been returned to service without further incident.
