Summary
2010-08-16: ACA872, Boeing 777 333ER, enroute from Toronto (CYYZ) to Frankfurt (EDDF), was operating on a cleared route of 50N 040W - 52N 030W at 35,000 ft. when Air Traffic Control (ATC) observed on an automatic report that the aircraft appeared to be north of track. Once queried, the crew advised they deviated nine miles north of track due to weather without requesting or receiving ATC clearance.
