Incident at CHURCHILL FALLS NL (CZUM)
Summary
2010-08-13: The Halifax Flight Information Centre (FIC) received a VFR flight plan for an American Registered Cessna 185 from Bangor (KBGR) to Churchill Falls (CZUM) with an ETA of 18:10Z with 30-minute fuel stops in Baie-Comeau (CYBC) and Wabush (CYWK). The aircraft was overdue at 19:10Z. There was no contact between the Halifax FIC and the aircraft. The Wabush Flight Service Station (FSS) was contacted and they advised that the aircraft arrived for a fuel stop at 17:51Z and departed at 18:28Z. The Wabush FSS also advised that the pilot stated he was not on a flight plan from Wabush to his destination, a lake "3 miles in on the Esker Road? which is west of Churchill Falls. The Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) has been advised and is investigating.
