Incident at Gander Oceanic (ATS operating irregularity)

Summary

2010-07-28: At 00:30Z, the Gander Area Control Centre issued a reroute clearance to the New York Centre for TOM123, Boeing 767-300, enroute from Puerto Plata (MDPP) to Manchester (EGCC) via 42N050W 46N040W 48N030W. The New York controller read back 42N050W 47N040W 49N030W as per the flight plan. The Gander Planner did not detect the incorrect read back. TOM123 reported proceeding to 47N040W with New York Centre. The Gander Oceanic controller saw the position but did not recognize the incorrect coordinate. The aircraft reported by 47N040W at 01:49Z with nine minutes separation from DAL94, Boeing 767-400, enroute from New York (KJFK) to Barcelona (LEBL).
