Incident at GANDER INTL NL (CYQX)

Summary

2010-07-21: EV800, Beech 100, enroute from Gander (CYQX) to St. John?s (CYYT), after departing from Runway 21, advised that the aircraft was losing engine RPM in the left turn and requested clearance for landing on Runway 31. No emergency was declared. The aircraft landed safely on Runway 31 at 18:03Z. The situation impacted two aircraft. C-GVKT was in the circuit and was advised to orbit north of field. C-FFUD was taxiing for departure and was held short of Runway 31. TSB Case Closed.
2010-08-16: UPDATE TSB: A10A0081: EVAS 800, a Beechcraft 100 (registration C-GZUZ) departed Gander and advised of fluctuating propeller RPM and engine torque indications. No emergency was declared. The aircraft landed safely at 1533 NDT. Maintenance had completed a recent compressor wash of the engines and a wet microswitch was determined to be the cause. The aircraft was test flown and released for service.
