Incident at 40 Miles West fo Moncton (CYQM)
Summary
2010-07-02: C-FLTC, Beech C90, enroute from Moncton (CYQM) to Ottawa (CYOW), was initially cleared to 20,000 ft. but was subsequently re-cleared to 16,000 ft. due to opposite direction traffic (2). The pilot read back the amended altitude properly but climbed through 16,000 ft. The controller alerted the pilot and the flight descended from 16,600 ft. back to 16,000 ft. The opposite direction traffic was over 35 nautical miles away and on diverging tracks.
