Incident at GREATER MONCTON ROMEO LEBLANC INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Summary

2010-06-16: MAL8062, Boeing 727 225, enroute from Moncton (CYQM) to Halifax (CYHZ) was instructed to taxi Alpha Apron and to hold short of Taxiway Bravo. The flight crew read back the hold short taxiway Bravo instruction. The aircraft was observed making a wrong direction turn onto Alpha. The aircraft was advised of the error and told to turn the other way. The flight crew advised that they were unable to turn and requested clearance to continue in the present direction. The flight crew was advised that taxiing on the closed portion of the taxiway was at their discretion. The flight crew was instructed to read back the hold short instruction and told to contact the tower.
