Incident at SAINT JOHN NB (CYSJ) (Communication navigation surveillance/air traffic system)

2010-06-14: At 15:25Z, the Halifax Flight Information Centre (FIC) received a proposed VFR flight plan for a Canadian registered VANS RV8, with an estimated time of departure of 11:45Z, from Portland (KPWM) to Saint John (CYSJ). When queried, Lockheed Martin FSS at Washington Hub advised that the flight plan had been filed by the Miami Hub for the next day (June 12th) and was transmitted in error. Subsequently, the Halifax FIC received a VFR arrival report from the Saint John Flight Service Station (FSS) at 17:39Z. Halifax did not have an active flight plan for this flight. This flight arrived in Canada without an active flight plan. Washington Hub confirmed the aircraft had not activated a VFR flight plan for June 11. Nil TSB.
