Incident at 95 Miles East of Sydney (CYQY)
Summary
2010-06-07: UPS213, MD11, enroute from Louisville (KSDF) to Bonn (EDDK) and FDX2, MD11, enroute from Memphis (KMEM) to London (EGSS) were both at 35,000 ft. UPS213 previously deviated from the cleared track due to weather conditions and was then cleared (clearance read back correctly) direct to NOVEP intersection. The aircraft were approximately six nautical miles apart on diverging tracks. UPS213 began tracking north of NOVEP intersection. The controller recognized the situation and provided corrective vectors to establish separation.
