Incident at MAKKOVIK NL (CYFT) (ATM - inaccurate aeronautical information)
Summary
2010-05-18: The Halifax Flight Information Centre (FIC) received a request for the 20:00Z weather report (METAR) for Makkovick (CYFT). When passed the altimeter, the pilot questioned the altimeter reading of 29.82. The altimeter reading at 19:00Z was also 29.82 but 18:00Z was 30.09; there was no remark of PRESFR (Pressure Falling Rapidly: at 19:00Z. The 20:00Z was the last observation of the day. After a message was left, the manager of the weather office contacted Halifax FIC and advised the altimeter was now 30.14 and the 20:00Z altimeter was wrong. He was unable to issue a 21:00Z METAR. There was no reported operational impact.
