Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ) (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)
2010-06-10: UPDATE TSB: A10A0050: An Air Canada Jazz Canadair CRJ2 (G-KEM), was en route from Halifax to Goose Bay when the flight crew advised that they had received a number one AC generator caution message. The aircraft requested and received a clearance to return to Halifax and landed safely with ARFF standing by. Two aircraft were delayed as airport personnel inspected the runway before normal operations resumed. Maintenance inspection revealed that the number one generator control unit (GCU) had failed. The GCU was replaced, several checks completed, and the aircraft returned to service.
2010-05-17: JZA898, RJ200, enroute from Halifax (CYHZ) to Goose Bay (CYYR), requested clearance to return to Halifax due to one engine being shutdown. Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) was on standby. The aircraft landed on Runway 32 at 15:05Z. The runway was closed until 15:15Z for inspection resulting in a delay to two other aircraft. TSB Case Closed.
