Incident at GANDER INTL NL (CYQX) (Overshoot/missed approach, Incursion - runway - aircraft, Conflict - potential, Alleged Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) infraction)


2010-06-10: UPDATE TSB: A10A0046: C-FIZU, a Government of Newfoundland Labrador Bombardier CL-215T on a local training flight, had been cleared for a touch and go on rwy 13 by the Gander tower controller. C-GZKI, a Gander Flight Training Cessna 152, had been issued taxi instructions for departure from rwy 21 via taxiway Echo to hold short of Runway 13. When tower personnel observed C-GZKI taxing on rwy 13 they issued go-around instructions to C-FIZU. There was no further incident.
2010-05-04: At 15:29Z, TKR286 (Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre), Canadair CL215, was cleared for a touch and go maneuver. At 15:29Z, C- GZKI, Cessna 152, was issued taxi instructions for departure from Runway 21, to taxi via Taxiway ECHO and hold short of Runway 13. At 15:30Z, the tower observed C-GZKI taxiing on Runway 13. TKR286 was issued instructions to execute a missed approach. TSB Case Closed.
